A transformer station and a gas power station will be built in the region of Saint-Louis, whose coastline is home to the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) gas project, according to the Director General of Senelec. He also indicated that as part of "President Macky Sall's ambitious gas to power programme", a 250 megawatt gas power plant will be built in Saint-Louis and, like West Africa Energy, will be developed entirely by Senegalese private companies. This plant, which will use the gas that our country shares with Mauritania as part of the Gta project, will be among other things a source of production in Saint Louis, according to Papa Mademba Bitèye.
